feminism is simple. it's what i identify with. it's who i am. feminism encompasses my personal, social, economic, political, spiritual and familial beliefs.

feminism is about equality. feminism is about social justice. feminism is not about "man-hating." feminism and other movements for civil rights have at the top of the list of the most important things this country has seen.

there are women and girlz who do the i'm not a feminist, but... thing. some of those people are my best friends. they are the people who don't want to be stuck with all the crap that anti-feminists have heaped onto feminism. but who certainly aren't interested in letting the fact that they're female stop them from doing, being, achieving anything they want in life.

feminists come in all shapes and sizes. i shave my legs but i can kick some ass, for example. i may look all girly cutesy some times, but i did put the man who sexually assaulted me in jail.

the dictionary definition of feminism is:
fem i nism n. the policy, practice or advocacy of political, economic and social equality for women.

fem i nist adj. or n. a person who advocates feminism.

see, it's simple.

and these thoughts are feminism, in brief, as it is to me.
